When my husband and I were planning our wedding, we chose Christy Williams ( now Christy Rimrodt) as our photographer. After we got married, my friend and I started a wedding consulting business and ventured into the land of "small business owners." We later found out that while we were great friends, we were not great at working together ;). So we went our separate business ways and I kept on with buying bridal magazines, meeting vendors, creating packages and check lists, checking out other sites and working with brides. I had recommended Christy to my friends that were getting married that year and saw her at all of thier weddings and so we stayed connected. When she signed on with Powers Studios as a photographer, Ben ( our owner) was looking for a few more wedding coordinators to help run our wedding sites and Christy knew that's what I was into so she gave me a call. I met with Ben at our Aileron Hill site, decided it was a company I wanted to be a part of and here we are today!

I absolutely love what I do! I'm constantly looking for new ways to stretch wedding budgets to make it a day that's remembered forever but not a day that you're in debt to forever! If you ever want to just meet and brainstorm over some ideas for your wedding, give me a call...I know a great little shop that serves the best Chai in town ;)

This reception was so beautiful. October stayed tamed for our last 2 weddings of the season up at Vista Hills. The sun was shining, and all the other elements were in place. Take a look at these pics I took with the iphone of how this bride wanted her set up to look!

She also created a "do-it-yourself" brooch bouquet found in Oregon Bride Magazine...What a beautiful job she did!

95 for the ceremony

Our Bride Nicole, tonight at Vista Hills, was perfect. She was a planner to her core and had very handy checklists for everyone who was helping out so they knew EXACTLY what they needed to do prior to the wedding and after the wedding. One of her bridesmaids had made the bride's dress with no pattern, nothing to compare it to, just from scratch. She was stunning. When she approached the ceremony and her guests saw her for the first time, you could literally hear a "gasp". What a beautiful bride she was!

She selected one of our partner caterers, Premiere Catering , to hire and trust for her event. They instantly were a perfect match. Nicole's attention and desire for the details were matched flawlessly by Premiere's reputation for an unforgettable event and their expertise in the details. I've attached a few photos that were snapped from the event. What a wonderful wedding!

Our bride tonight at Vista Hills is herself an event coordinator from Oklahoma! It was so fun to plan with her as she knew the "linen lingo" and guest traffic questions to ask - what a blast! Elephants Catering did a fantastic job of setting everything up and catering, not forgetting a single detail. (Thanks Matt and the crew for such a great night!) Dan Busch with Pro Dj's was the Dj tonight and as always, was wonderful. Take a look at these table linens and settings and get inspired!

Great Idea for Unity Ceremony

It's not often that I see something done in a ceremony that I've never seen before...but tonight we had a wedding at Vista Hills and they put a really unique twist on the "wine ceremony" that was so sweet!

They had 2 bottles of wine on the barrel, each signifying their lives as individuals. THen they had a beautiful decanter which they poured both bottles of wine into, blessed it and then had glasses prepared for each of their guests to be poured from the decanter, signifying that each of their guests have played a part in who they are today. They then toasted right there at the end of the ceremony. It was wonderful!

Best Band Ever!

The wedding tonight at Vista Hills was out of this world perfect! The weather couldn't have been better, the people were amazing to work with from start to finish and you could just tell that everyone really loved eachother. The Band was the best I have ever heard. They're from Seattle but definitely travel down to Portland for gigs. They are Solbird Band . Every song sounds like they're playing a CD. Great horns section, killer vocals and drummer and guitars too!

So Congratulations to Janell and Nate! You are wonderful and I couldn't have asked for better clients :) Enjoy your newly married adventures!
